Magic Matting Free App Reviews

As a free app, it works good enough to remove my photo background.

I am running 10.6.8 on a macbook pro. I downloaded this app and it will not open. I only shows error. I just need a simple background removal tool!!!

From the looks of things this program is designed to remove the background. But not only is it difficult to figure out (and I’ve used Photoshop plenty of times) but it sends my new computer into spinning wheel mode and you can hear the computer revving up. Three times and same thing. Can’t find instructions on the actual document when I’m trying to edit. Really hoped this app would do it for me. Bummed.

this app wouldnt even open.

I read the reviews stating the app wouldn’t open. I downloaded this before buying the full app. Won’t buy it now.

I downloaded and was able to open and use. Appeared to remove the background (took about 10 minutes to figure out how to use), but the image I save has a background. There are web sites that also remove the background, but you can’t save until you purchase. Don’t know if the same thing is going on here. If the product works, at a $ is worth the price, but not worth the price to find out. The free version should work, even if I GET ONLY 5 SAVES…. so I won’t purchase to find out… you lose a sale… Update: 1 So I did a little more research… found another program with 5 stars for $9.99… I purchased and used. the default save file type is .png…. I stripped the background, saved with the default .png and reopened in Apple Motion 5 and viola, no background. So, I came back to this product… stripped the background and saved, this time paying attention to the file type. The default isn’t .png but a .jpg. I changed to the .png and viola, no background. This product actually did a better job of removing the background than the product I purchased. This product worked as well or better than the product I purchased for $9.99… Update: 2 The image quality of the purchased product is better than this product. I had an image of a greek column and the column in the final image does have better quality in the product I purchased, but most people might not even notice.

Ive opened the application ten times now, and the first thing it tells me to do is open a photo, so I choose a photo and then NOTHING happens. I sit and wait and stare at my screen and nothing. Complete waste of time.
